My Instead: I stopped…and appreciated the most artistic clouds I have ever seen in my life.
Today was my “every
other Tuesday” and I was blessed with the joy of spending the day with my
grandson Andy. After we dropped his big sister Abbey off at school, an errand
to my friend Lynn’s house was next on our schedule. When we arrived, Lynn was
outside walking her dog. And color me NOT surprised, Andy was asleep in the back seat already. Lynn and I decided to take care of our business out by my car. (She
had some paperwork for me to pick up to enter my photography in her
neighborhood craft boutique.)
While we were gabbing
away, I looked up and noticed this amazing cloud formation. They were cirrus
clouds draped across the sky like an ocean wave. Immediately, I told Lynn to
look up. She quickly took a glance and then just as quickly did a double take. She
was as amazed as I was and asked if I had my camera. I did! I snapped away at
this phenomenon. I could not get enough of it! I have witnessed a lot of clouds
in my day, but never anything like this! It arched clear across the morning
sky, similar to how a rainbow reaches from one pot of gold to the other.
As I drove off I kept watching,
hoping the clouds would not dissipate. When I came up to this parking lot, I
couldn’t help but turn in and take even more photos. As soon as I could, I
texted pictures to my kids and friends. And of course, I posted some on
Facebook.
This was an “instead”
that manifested itself to me and I embraced it. I couldn’t help but
wonder how this could have formed so perfectly. And then I remembered who the Artist was…
