Day 62 ~ H2Oh!
Mar 3,
2014
My first:
I took in nothing but water for the entire day.
I decided
the night before to have a day where I just took in water, nothing else to
drink OR eat. This is not to lose weight because I don’t need to and I’m smart enough
to know that starving oneself is not the way to do it.
Luckily
and coincidentally, I picked a day where I was very busy. Unfortunately, all three
jobs that I went to during the day, I was offered food. Two of the three times I
was tormented with the aroma surrounding those offers. But I was not tempted. I
was determined to do this as my “first” and I think my stomach got the message.
It cooperated so well, with hardly any gurgling or hunger pangs.
I really didn't
dwell on starving people in Africa, probably because my hunger in no way came
close to what those people suffer daily. And this was not some sort of fasting
as a penance attempt. I just wanted to see what it was like to refrain from all
of my daily oral seductions…and I’m just talking about food and drink, folks.
But as I
said, my day was busy and my hands and mind were occupied with the jobs at
hand. I went to bed hungry but not starving…many of us use that word so
loosely. Really? Starving? If we are starving, it is probably not anything bodily,
but rather spiritually. Let’s try feeding our spirits and forgo the McDonald’s now
and again, shall we?
