Day 63 ~ “On the Fly” Buy

My first: I accidentally broke an item at Home Depot and took it up to the cashier to pay for it.

Okay, yes, this was a “first” I did “on the fly”. I had to go to Home Depot in the evening to return an item and to pick up a few things. I found this Microfiber Mini Blind Duster and thought it was exactly what I needed so I don’t have to clean blinds the hard way.

Well, I was checking out this little duster to see how much pressure was applied by putting my finger in between the dusters when you squeezed down on the handle . And as the angels would have it, one of the legs of the handle broke. Of course, the “oh s**t” spilled out of my mouth.  I slyly placed it back in its bin and walked away to continue my shopping…after grabbing an intact duster. I looked at a couple of other things and decided on what I would purchase and started heading to the cashiers. As I walked, I thought of my “first” for the day that still was not done. Ugh…back to the dreaded broken mini-blind duster. My thought: “I should have been honest from the start without my daily ‘first’ egging me on”. I'll just take it up there and tell them how I broke it and leave it with them to “write-off”. Nope, I'll go one better and buy it! After all, it was not Home Depot’s fault. It was mine.
