My instead: After an 11
hour day, instead of collapsing at home for the evening, I got ready and went
out to meet friends in St. Louis’ The Grove.
Clean Joanne’s house in
the morning – check. Work 4 hours cleaning up friend’s landscaping in the afternoon – check. Mow
my own lawn and weed eat in the evening– check. Get cleaned up and go meet friends at The
Grove in St. Louis– are you kidding me! The couch called my name and begged me
to rest. I ain’t dead yet! “Instead” I showered, dressed, put my face on, lacquered
my hair and was out the door. Second wind, keep it comin’!
I arrived at the outside
patio and met my friend Annette and several other people. The evening was glad
I decided to take it all in…and so was I. The musicians were in on it too and
made my exhaustion flow from me. Send in the substitution…serenity.
When the music died, several of us settled in the patio’s poise sharing our stuff from the past,
present and what’s to
come. We all felt the welcomed departure from our day-to-day-to-day...
