Day 143 ~ Shift Work

May 23, 2014
My instead:  I worked a shift in the “It Works! Global” tent at the St. Louis Rib Fest.
Because one of our teammates was unable to work her shift in the It Works tent at the St. Louis Rib Fest, I volunteered to fill in. Without hesitation, I said yes! The cost was $25 to cover part of the fee to enter the event, but the possibilities of how this could affect the growth of my business were enticing to me. So why not!
Fortunately, my teammate Jennifer, was my partner for the evening. She is a delightful, authentic and healthy individual. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to get to know her better and to learn from her. We had a great time sharing with each other and teaching people about our health and beauty products.
Unfortunately, we had to close up shop about an hour and a half early due to no lighting in our tent. Jen and I talked to the Rib Fest staff and arranged for lighting to be installed for the remainder of the Memorial Day weekend. It felt good to be “in charge” and make decisions along the way as we saw fit. Jen and I worked so well together which just added to the enjoyment of this new experience for me.
So here I am, at almost 62-years-old, workin’ it! I would never have envisioned doing something like this at “my age”. But I love NOT always knowing what is just around the corner. I simply embrace it!
