My Instead: I presented a photo from by boutique show as a gift to one of my clients.
I was off to my client’s
house in Millstadt, remembering back in early spring when I took a different
route to their place. My camera and I started out on that beautiful sunny
morning waiting for Mother Nature to strike a pose. And she did. I got several
great shots of her beginning to don her spring wardrobe.
My clients are sweet
people with more than their share of health issues, but they have a healthy
spirit that greets me on each visit and fills me up. Who could be more deserving
of an altruistic gift from me! I chose one of my boutique photos taken on that early
spring morning. It was a picture of a sunny country road with a meadow peeking
through the trees.
As usual, I walked in as
I was greeted by the lady of the house. Before I started to get the tools
of my trade ready, I handed the photo to my friend and explained its history. She was
so touched that I thought of her and her husband. She placed it on her cabinet
still admiring it. Later, her husband came to me to thank me as well for the
nice photo and how nice it was for me to give it to them.
It was so rewarding to
see their gratitude. The funny thing was I believe they were more thankful that I thought of them than of the actual photo gift. I guess it’s true…it’s the
thought that counts.
